Making business on your Photography
Them guys over at fstopper.com sure know their way around the internet. This often results in us readers getting treats like this video I'm posting below.
While this may not be one of the entertaining behind-the-scenes videoes that I'm so fond if, it does provide a bunch of useful stuff on the business level.
Girlsquad Christmas card – photoshoot
The strange thing about blogging is that I often feel quite busy with work, but never really having any new stuff to showcase. This is ofcourse because of the fact that photos often have release dates, which means that showing them before on my blog would kinda ruin the whole surprise.
I've just finished the quite extensive post production of press material for the band Rebound Rubies, and hopefully I can you show that on blog soon.
Until then, here's a shot used as a christmas card for the danish event agency Girlsquad
If you snoop around that big thing called the internet, you might find a picture that looks somewhat like this. While this is not a replica, we WERE inspired.
The photo is a composite of:
model shot in my studio
The bottle neck of a champagne
Sky
Add a couple of layers with smoke from explosions, some minor adjustments to the whole shenanigan and you've got yourself a christmas card ready for shipping.
Flashing Photoshop skills
Do you know fstoppers.com? If you're reading my blog, something tells me you're into photography, and if you're in to photography, you really Should know fstoppers.com. It is by far, the best and most informative website with bts-videoes, competitions and all sorts of inspiring stuff.
For instance, they just launched a photoshop competition where you had 72 hours to edit a photo - this one
With me being sick these cold winter days, I thought to myself - why not give it a go, so I did:
I spend about 30 minutes extracting him from the background and removing the wires - then I went through my stack of street images from Copenhagen, and found this one.
I added a phony sky (I love them dramatic clouds) a stock image of a river, and the rest was just details.
Exhibition of young photographers
This friday, a group of young and promising photographers showcase some of their photo projects as part of the programme at Københavns film- og fotoskole.
23 students will be showing photo projects about a hitch hiking trip to the danish cities Berlin and Paris (appearently we have cities in Denmark named after the German and French capitols), dead featus' photographed with home built hole camera and ghettoes - in other words, a whole lotta different kinds of photos.
I'ts this friday the 10. of december from 15.00 to 19.00 at
Fabrikken for Kunst og Design
Sundholmsvej 46
Here's a link to the danish facebook site with more information.
