Help portrait 2010 in Copenhagen

help portrait 2010 copenhagen denmark

HELP-PORTRAIT IS A GLOBAL MOVEMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHERS USING THEIR TIME, GEAR AND EXPERTISE TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE IN NEED.

Yeah, you would think that someone could find a better way of saying it that I would - so I found someone who did - the international help portrait website.

Last year, the Celebrity Photographer Jeremy Cowart came up with this idea to offer his time and gear to those in need and who didn't have the means to pay a professional photographer for images of themselves or family. This concept spread to a bunch of countries within no time, and as far as I remember, 59 countries were engaged in this no-profit concept the 4. of december last year.

This year, we do it again. As last year, a whole bunch of photographers meet at Stilleben, the studio complex in a northern part of Copenhagen to shoot people for free all day.

I did this last year, but there were not that many people taking advantage of it, so I ended up shooting some of the other volunteers and my dad who was a sponsor that year.

Hopefully more will join this saturday, so spread to word or even better, come for yourself - if not for the photo, then just to say hi.

Oh yeah, and here's the danish site.

General update and old photos

I haven't had new images to show in a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been shooting.

At this point, I have finishes photos from 2 sessions with artists from Cocoon Music. The images are press material and single covers, but since the singles are yet to be released, all I can do is wait to show you guys the work.

You might remember this video from one of the shoots.

Until then, here are some old images from a couple of different shoots that i dug up and edited.

Video Photography – I’m doing it

As some of you guys might have noticed, I've added a couple of behind-the-scenes for videoes instead of photography. This is not me saying bye bye to photography, but me saying "hey there" to film photography.

I've started some of it myself, and here is one of my first projects - a small documentary with the band Carpark North. It's made for Copenhagen Beta, a Web-TV for the artists of Copenhagen Records.

Interview on Somethingwelike.com

"What do you think about the Internet and how it is affecting our lifestyle?
The internet is my only source of living, promotion, getting out there. It’s the absolute most vital piece of gear I have to work with."

A while back, I was contacted by the person in charge of the photo/graphics blog somethingwelike.com and asked to do an interview.

Today, this interview was released, and if I wasn't me, I would read it - it some quite interesting questions in it.

The interview

Next big photo event – your ideas

God created the world and said "Let there be light"

And finally us photographers had something to work with.

After the light came the SPARTANS

and the AMAZONS

followed by a FREAK WEDDING

which resulted in WOMEN BOXING

Next year, YOUR idea for a shoot can be the one we do in the streets of Copenhagen.

So post your best idea for the Annual Photo Event in Copenhagen in the comments below, and become a part of the crew and storywriter of these kick ass shoots.

Everlast commercial photos hits Dubai

Remember those photos I did a while back with all them hot ladies dressed as boxers roaming the streets of Copenhagen?

Well it seems Everlast in Dubai is into that. So into it that they've taken one of the photos from the photo shoot and made a 9 meters wall as the front of one of their shops down in the land of sand.

Paris Photo 2010

I think I'm gonna book flight tickets for my first off shore photo exhibition/event - the big one in Paris from the 17. to 21. of november.

Apparently, more than 100 galleries and publishers are gathered in the city d'amour, so my advice would be to start looking into your bank account and calender, if you're up for going as well.

New website up and running

I few months back I decided to finally do something about my old website adamsundphoto.com. It had some vital flaws, only half of the visitors figured out how to maneouvre around and there was not CMS system ( a way for me to handle the images).

So I contacted a friend of mine who sent to a friend of his who finally sent me to HIS friend - a guy who could make me a website based on wordpress. Figuring it might be a lot easier to work it since this blog is in WordPress, I decided to give him the job.

Today, a bunch of mails later and a whole lot of working hours put into the project, I'm proud to present my final and brand new WEBSITE.

A great big thanks to Simon Salomonsen for being such a sport with this project - he really took a lot from he and my very specific and sometimes changing ideas.

Feel free to pop by - you and know how I love a good comment.

Photoshop competition – the winner is

A few weeks ago I made a post where you could download an image and expose to your own dose of Photoshop.

Here are those who took up the challenge

Jimmi Larsen

Troels WeinreichHelle HarmsLonghorn

I most admit I had somegood  laughs over this, and having to pick a winner was harder than I had thought.

Each photo has it's own charm, which I'm pretty sure you can all see, but the winner photo took the elements and used them in a quite different context which made me laugh the most - and when it all comes down, this competition was about that - humour.

And with those words said, I am proud to announc that

Jimmi Larsen is the winner with this fantastic Ballet intepretation.

He managed to use the new puppet warp tool to it's fullest effect which made this quite hilarious image - congratulations - you've just won a 50% discount on my upcoming courses!
